esx.conf Settings

• /etc/vmware/esx.conf defines all of the configuration settings for the ESX/ESXi 3.x/4.x & ESXi 5 Host                                                                                                                                Service Console IP Hostname, Boot Information, Hardware Device Settings, Firewall Settings, NAS Settings, Network settings,Storage,VMkernel
• Can be modified using VIC, esxcfg tools,scripting or manually editing the file
• May have to edit the Host Name entry next to "/adv/Misc/HostName" in esx.conf if the ESXi host is renamed
